Chinese Economists Club (CEC)
The Chinese Economists Club (CEC) was launched in the era of COVID-19 pandemic. It is an academic platform for Chinese-speaking economists and social scientists from everywhere in the world. CEC is originally derived from the audio discussions on Clubhouse and opens to invited economists and social scientists only.
CEC Membership
The CEC membership is typically by invitation and nomination from a fellow member. While most of our members are faculties and doctoral researchers who conduct economic and social scientific research in academia, our members also include research data scientists in emerging and inter-disciplinary scientific fields working at Google, Facebook and Amazon. We also welcome those who will potentially bring great economic insights to our discussions and be contributors to session topics. Members can choose to list a published profile at the CEC.
Our Member
Our members are professional researchers and science lovers. We currently have 170 approved members from around the globe and our membership continues to grow. We are economists, statistician, computer scientists, data scientists, mathematician, physicists, sociologists, linguists and anthropologists.
Advisory Committee Member
Our advisory committee members are global senior scientists nominated by CEC members. Our current advisory committee members are faculties and researchers from Development Research Center of the State Council, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Renmin University of China, University of Copenhagen and Purdue University.
What we do
We routinely host academic discussions on clubhouse and discuss emerging and interesting academic subjects. Some topics can be categorized in pre-established and interdisciplinary academic fields. We help Chinese-speaking economists build academic network and promote scientific collaborations in cross-disciplinary fields such as the economics of artificial intelligence and econophysics.
